DVR / HDD - buy now or wait?     Sun, 12 Feb 2006 10:04:05 +0000 (UTC)
Hi, I currently have a Philips DVR which looks like it is giving up the ghost. I've been looking to upgrade to the Pioneer DVR-930H-S, which has a HDMI output (I've got a Pioneer Plasma, so thought this would be a good hook up). But I'm not sure about next generation HD DVDs. Will the Pioneer be able to ...

Humax 9200T fault     10 Feb 2006 13:19:24 -0800
Anyone come across this fault with a 9200T please? When I go into the recorded programmes menu nothing shows up, even though I know there are programmes there. The hard drive capacity indicator confirms that the drive is only 85% or so free. Turning off and on doesn't help - still no recorded programmes lis ...

Just a note following, I believe, a request from Roman for info about multi-format DVD recorders - something that 'til now has been difficult to find: Noticed yesterday in Hughes, (an independent electrical retailer - www.hughesdirect.co.uk), ones that might fit the bill: Hitachi DVDS-161E UK ( ...

This morning I woke my 9200T out of standby and went into the Record menu to check out the disk usage. All but the top two options (programmes and schedule) were greyed out and unselectable! I tried again a few hours later and all was back to normal. Has anyone else seen this? Does it happen when the thing ...

Hi I hope you can give me some advice as I'm driving nearly 200 miles tomorrow to my aged Father to set up a Humax 8000 PVR for him. He was having terrible problems with his existing setup (see below) recording from digital freeview to VHS and I suggested he buy a PVR, so in time for my visit he's bought t ...

Good DVB card for MCE     Wed, 8 Feb 2006 20:45:57 -0000
Can someone recommend a DVB-T card that preferably has drivers certified for Windows Media Center Edition? I would really like to get a dual digital tuner card but I can't find any but the Terratec offering. Unfortunately I bought that one but it has driver problems and won't work on my PC. (It reports a res ...

Tivo - extracting video     08 Feb 2006 09:54:45 GMT
I've had a Tivo for several years now, and I still think it's the best gadget I've ever bought! One of the things I'd like to be able to do with it is archive off some programs, so that I can play them later on my PC or Xbox Media Center. So, I have some questions: * Is this even possible? (I don't see w ...
