Toppy, freeview, HDTV & wireless access

I'm planning to buy an LCD widescreen TV and a hard disk recorder. I
like the look of the Toppy. I like the 250Gb hard disk, the twin
freeview tuners and the whole TAP idea. However, I'm concerned about
future HDTV compatibility. I received conflicting advice about freeview

Having bought a Tivo many years ago (well 3 or 4) and thinking it would have
a lifespan of a year or 2 until something better came along I did not take
out the lifetime subscription.

I`m after a all in one PVR (2 tuner freeview digital) 160Gb HD approx
with a DVD player/recorder that can record from external AV signal from say
a Sky STB.
is there any box like this out there if not is one on the horizon.

I have just stumbled upon the tvix M5000U @ http://www.tvix.co.kr/eng/
whilst this smart little box does not have a freeview tuner yet it will
do (the manual hints at this and there support team confirmed that it

Reducing TiVo RF emissions

Does anyone have any tips on reducing RF emissions from TiVo?
I have a series 1 Thomson Scenium, with an upgraded 160Gb disk, and a
network card.
When within 1/2 feet of my freeview box/amplifier combo, it interferes so
completely that the picture is unwatchable or absent altogether.
I may have to go down ...

Hi all , only just tracked this NG down tonight as I'm on the lookout for a
better way to handle freeview / scheduling recordings in my household.
So....my circumstances :-
4-bed house with 4 PCs all hardwire networked and switched to allow web
independantly
No SKY...can't afford and don't watch enough te ...
