Telewest, Freeview and a nice EPG with series link - what are my choices?

I want to buy a PVR - but nothing does what I want.
It doesn't sound *that* difficult...
Must have:
- Telewest cable TV
- Freeview (one or two tuners)
- A nice simple combined EPG to handle what to record when
- Some sort of series link functionality
- only one remote control... a requirement from the l ...

Just taken my Swisstec DVD recorder back to the shop because it developed a
few faults after only having it for 6 months. I now have a Panasonic DVD
recorder.

Tivo and VCR/dvdr recording

Whereas I used to have no problems dubbing from Tivo to a VCR my attempts to
do the same to a cheapo DVD recorder(Mustek R100A-2)have all failed.Getting
an error message on the dvdr.Anyone suggest why or recommend a dvd recorder
compatible with the Tivo.

Strange program guide problem with Sony pvr

My Sony RDR-HX525 has Guide Plus+ program guide. This week its acting
strangely because when I select the program guide it the first day displayed
is last Sunday's programs i.e. four days ago. I can toggle it over but next
time I access its back to displaying Sunday!

fiveUS/life EPG

My Thomson DHD4000 pvr won't capture the EPGs for five life and
five US. It can find every other channel's EPG, even including
five's.
I've tried rebooting the machine and several full channel scans
as suggested by customerservices@five.tv who say they are
putting the EPGs out but no joy.

Recording from other devices

I've been looking a PVRs for sometime now and although I've managed to
find a few that allow you to link them upto your computer I've not
found one that will let you record onto it from another device, for
example a camcorder.
Does anyone know of a machine that will let you record from a scart
input?

Bought 1 of these today and while it is able to pause live tv it is not able
to rewind live tv. Is this really made like this or does it have a fault?

Cheers for the suggestion on the terrestrial pvr to buy,
loads of suggestions, but still they need a bit of work to get them to work
out of the box,
i'm worried about them loosing their added on bits that make them work, say
due to a software crash, power cut, pressing the wrong buttons etc, i spend
upto 6 mo ...
