Networking USB PVRs

You can now buy a little adapter that converts a USB port to a network socket. I
have not tried any, but it occurred to me that you could plug one into a Humax
or Topfield PVR, and so put it on your network. Does anyone know if that would
work? I guess it all comes down to drivers.

PVR, HDD Recorder and Telewest Cable Box - Choices?

Hi folks,
I have been using my PC with a TV card to record composite TV video
(via scart) from my telewest (TW) pace cable box..
However I want to get a separate unit (so I can switch my PC off) that
will record TV from the pace box but am unsure of the best PVR for
this.
I don't want one of TW's TV ...

Anyone had a Sony RDR-HX525 or HX725 fail?

My Sony RDR-HX525 has failed under warranty. The symptom is flashing on
playback whether pre-recorded dvd or from hard disk.
Sony dealer directed me to their repair center (not Sony?) who said that
this was a common problem and it required a new voltage regulator.
This plausible?

we want to buy a humax 9200t in the north london area. we can get it from
john lewis for ¡ê197 or order it on-line at comet and pick it up at the local
comet for ¡ê181. Although costing ¡ê16 more at john lewis it comes with a two
year warranty instead of the one year at comet. is it a reliable enough

Tivo and Sky radio stations - RF workaround problem

Having previously used my Tivo with Telewest cable, when I changed to Sky
recently I was completely unaware of the issue regarding radio stations :(
I have the new Amstrad Skybox, not Sky +.
Anyway, I researched the RF mono workaround and had a go at setting it up

I have 2 Tivo's, and experiencing the same problm on both of them.
They both connected their own digibox.
The sound keeps dropping out for about 1 second or less. Very similar to

Best sub-¡ê100 Freeview PVR?

Hello - I'm thinking of buying a PVR for my technophobe parents - preferably
sub-¡ê100 or as close-too. Functional and simple it must be, mega-featured
it won't need to be.
I'm a long-term Tivo user, so I know little about current PVR offerings.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've gone into guided setup but haven't got very far - when I select the

Humax PVR 9200T - uploading TS files problems - advice sought

I have been having difficulties uploading recorded programmes to my PC
using media e-linker. The upload constantly crashes before it gets
very far.
I have tried using the alternative Media Controller I found on the
internet - while this doesn't abort it seems to want to take hours
(literally) to upload a file ...
