the unit is supposed to record 2 programs while
able to playback a recording. most times it will.
a number of times i have been recording 2 progs,
then when i change channel it says something about
being busy, which what i would expect, but the
last few times its let me watch 1 channel, while
recording 2 ch ...

it seems to take a while to download, even if i'm
on bb1 or 2. usually when i want to set the timer,
i switch on the unit & the tv, when i am about to
'go out' but have to wait for the guide to load, i
could go though & set start & stop times, but that
a pain, could it not 'cashe' the info on the hard
drive, ...

Thomson DHD 4000 PVR overheating

I bought 2 of these brand new recently and 1 of them just freezes usually
with 5 minutes of turning it on.
However if I remove the casing it seems to play fine so I'm guessing an
overheating problem.
But the strange thing is, the unit is barely warm to touch with the casing
on and when I remove it and hover ...

Humax PVR8000T program guide problem

I've had the Humax for a year or two and I'm pretty happy with it, apart
from a few annoyances (such as remembering the position in only a single
part played recording).
I suspect that I am not getting all the multiplexes. In particular I
have had problems with some of the higher numbered channels.

Humax recorded program scramble

My Humax 9200t has some kind problem, because the other day some recordings
in the recorded list suddenly developed the wrong titles. Also some
recordings were suddenly listed not once, but repeated three times in the
recordings list. Also some of the recorded programs suddenly had the
'recording incomplete' ...

Pioneer DVR-533H firmware disk for failed hard drive

I have a Pioneer DVR-533H-S with a failed hard drive. I replaced the
drive with information from pioneerfaq.info, but can't get my Timer
Recording to work. I've tried the images from that website, basically
4096K of data that is copied to the new drive with a Unix utility.

1. a 15" BRAVIA 4:3 LCD TV with Integrated Digital Tuner + PC Input
2. a 160 GB HDD DVD Recorder with integrated digital TV tuner.

Broken picture & sound with PVR

I have a combined FreeView / PVR box and an LCD TV that also has a
built-in FreeView tuner. The PVR provides the aerial and SCART as
inputs to the TV. When the PVR is recording then the TV's FreeView
channels are unwatchable because the sound & picture is completely
broken up. The only channels that are OK are ...
