I know Sky have a commercial service which the supply to pubs - at
great expense - the landlord of my local pais Sky >¡ê750 yesterday to
enable Sky sports etc, but the upgrade has failed and he isn't getting
much sense from Sky - does anyone know if Virgin offer a similiar
service - i.e. theability to show sports c ...

Sky+ box playback freezes for about 1 minute

Anyone else having this problem?
Picture freezes on screen as if pause had been selected, but the play
indicator is still rotating as normal. After about a minute, box
either continues as normal, or drops out of play as if stop selected.
Selecting play again will work, but box does not pick up play from

Sky+ switching to ultra wide screen

My SKY+ has started behaving odd. 3 times now, it has switched itself
into very side screen. The output is set to 16:9 (same layout, but it
switches it self as my plasma) TV, but after it does this change,
there are black borders at the top and bottom of alomst every channel
(such as sky 1, sky news, bbc, etc). ...

various 12V supplies I can use but what's the polarity of the DC input or is
it protected and not a problem if I try it the wrong way round?

A query I have a spare digital aerial installed, as I got sky + and they
would not touch my dish as it was deemed unsafe to alter, owing to it
being on a chimney stack on a bungalow (BUT installed by a freelance sat
installer)

Sky+ problem: corrupt firmware?

Received new box today (dead Amstrad swapped for Thompson). Not sure whether
refurb or not (m-in-law was in)
New box is seriously screwed! Live pause makes the lights come on but when
you press play they spin but
the pic stays paused, until it says "recording interrupted".
All recordings don't work, if you try ...
