Digital UK postcode checker returns erroneous data?
Fri, 27 Jun 2008 15:05:25 +0100
What do folks make of this:
http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodechecker/main/trade/ML10+6PD/NA/0
For Darvel the polarisation is surely wrong (should be horizontal?) as
are the analogue channel numbers (except C5). The digital channel
numbers, present and future, seem OK though.

Dixons/Samsung poor service
Fri, 27 Jun 2008 13:42:18 +0100
I ordered a TV from Dixons. This morning it arrived with a hole in the box
and damage to the screen - thanks to DHL/UK Mail. Samsung are blaming
DHL/UK Mail for throwing the TV about. DHL/UK Mail say that's how the box
was when they put it in a mail bag! Why would they send out something they
knew was dama ...

After returning my last one because of faults I thought I'd try again hoping
they have improved. Unfortunately they seem to be out of stock at Argos
Dixon's and Curry's, DABS don't stock them. Have they been withdrawn?

DVD/VCR Recorder - Green colour cast
Fri, 27 Jun 2008 12:39:14 +0100
We've borrowed an oldish Bush DVHRS02 DVD/VCR Recorder to get some of
our old VHS tapes copied to DVD. My existing setup is Panasonic
TX-32LXD52 32" LCD TV, Philips DVD757VR combo, Sky+ box (i.e. no DVD
record facility).
I've got it working after a fashion by simply removing the SCART and
RF lead connections fr ...

"Many people are still buying analogue TV sets unaware that they will
soon need extra equipment to make them work, according to a report
from MPs.
A parliamentary report claims that many viewers do not understand the

Sales on analogue sets - Today
Thu, 26 Jun 2008 10:36:00 +0100
There was a piece on the sales of 'analogue' TV sets on R4's Today this
morning - seems they are still exceeding those of FreeView ones. The
comment seemed to suggest it was down to ignorance. No one mentioned that
one of those plus a Freeview box is pretty well always far cheaper than a
Freeview set...

TOT: Last night's footie
Thu, 26 Jun 2008 08:58:04 +0100
OK, so the TV feed goes down because of storms in Austria/Switzerland - it
happens.
The Beeb switches to the 5-live radio feed and a red screen saying "Sorry,
there's a fault" - bravo for a bit of quick thinking someone.
Then some plonker fades out the radio feed to tell me "sorry, there's a
fault and we'r ...

Is Joe Public thick as shit?

Hi,
I came across this article. Has the collective IQ of the UK population
dropped like a rock over the last 20 years or so?
