PVR advice please

Hello group,
I would welcome any advice about products you think may be suitable
for my situation, please.
My current set up is a Sky (non-subscription) box with viewing card
and a Panasonic freeview DVD recorder.
The latter has recently started having some 'freezing' type problems ,

Prob OT Plasma versa LCD

I suspect this is either ot or has been done to death here. I am
thinking of upgrading to hd tv and flat screen. I know the difference in
technology between the plasma and LCD, but what are the pros and cons
from the consumers view point? I have tried googling but not yet found a

As it's for terrestrial broadcasts and it does NOT receive Freeview it
must only have an analogue tuner front end. The 1500 channel ...

Wouldn't have been the first time I've been given a similar box and
asked to set it up to get as many freeview channels as their aerials can
receive....
