Freeview Signal Planned Degrade After Switchover?

If I go to
http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodechecker/main/trade/BA12
+6DG/Reeves+Acre/0/c046c9b4e21aa044bb8e0cebc6bcb4b0
It shows a very strange thing; the page shows all my local
transmitters Rowridge, Stockland Hill and Mendip degrading
after 2012 from 'meets the planning standard' to marginal
for Mux1/ ...

TV DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIERS
Sun, 1 Jun 2008 17:41:07 +0100
Hello,
Can anyone on this group suggest a good 6-way tv distribution amplifier -
one that is not broadband - i.e. from DC through to light - but one that has
a properly filtered front-end and *only* covers uhf tv frequencies.
Mine gets clobbered by all the very high-power rf I chuck at it.
I want to start ...

WARNING!: All Freesat SD Boxes may be Faulty.

I've now taken 2 Grundig baxes back to the shop with very poor colour
registration - it shows itself as a colour fringe to the left of block
graphics. The best example being ITV3 where the DOG has a red fringe to
the left of the red blocks when it should be solid colour. It also shows
itself as a general "mudd ...

Promax Explorer HDTV option?
Sun, 01 Jun 2008 12:29:35 +0200
Tomorrow after much dithering, I am buying a Promax Explorer. The
Explorer II does HDTV as well (DVB-S2) but is some ¡ê750 dearer. In one
of the adverts I saw for meters they said, you can get away without
the DVB-S2 option and use an adjacent normal DVB reading to get a good
indication of the state of play with th ...

Handheld TVs after switchover?
Sun, 01 Jun 2008 00:02:04 +0100
What happens to small handheld battery powered TVs after switchover to
digital? Anyone know of any small upgrade that you can do to upgrade
these into a digital set?
You can get tiny USB dongles that turn your computer monitor into a
digital TV, so the necessary equipment for digital TV reception can
certainly ...

Shy HD and DD 5.1 over HDMI
Fri, 30 May 2008 22:59:58 +0100
I'm an idiot!
I should have checked before I bought a sony av amp to do the HDMI
switching. I have 3 HDMI inputs, SAT, DVD and BD only to discover that the
Sky HD box does not output DD 5.1 via HDMI. DD 5.1 is only output via
optical which doesn't match any of the video inputs!! So I can have Sky HD
with PC ...

Out of a number of rather 'unusual' to say the least, aerial and satellite
fittings I spotted at a place called Newent which I visited earlier this
week, I snapped this specimen, unfortunately taken through a rather grubby
window so the picture quality ain't that good.
