Anglia East ( West version)
Tue, 27 May 2008 18:35:24 +0100
For some reason we are getting a cut down size picture on both the BBC East
( west) version on both sky and Freeview, however the analogue signal
remains its usual 14X9
this is only happening when National BBC programmes are shown, not when the
regional news is on, I have tried the other BBC channels includin ...

Jonathan Ross Show BBC1 Scotland (analogue)
Sat, 24 May 2008 16:38:09 +0100
Did any other regions have a problem at the start of the Jonathan Ross
Show last night?
It was a bit of a shambles in Scotland, we got some sort of apology
caption briefly with music then kept getting a blue sky with clouds and
"BBC" in the middle - very like the Windows clouds. We then watched as
they fast fo ...

Screen format question
Fri, 23 May 2008 22:27:17 +0200
I live in Belgium where we get BBC TV 1 & 2 on the cable distribution
system. Until a few months ago, we were receiving the standard analogue 14:9
pictures on both BBC channels. Then it changed so that BBC 1 is now Super
16:9 and BBC 2 is widescreen (according to the automatic switching on my
Philips 16:9 LCD ...

Slightly off-topic: filming permissions
Tue, 20 May 2008 19:32:30 +0100
Just an anecdote about film units - and today.
Due to resident's parking restrictions I have to move one car between
11.30 and 12.30 when not working, so a good time to take the dog out if no
shopping needed. I usually drive to Tooting Common and park up in the Lido
car park - it's always pretty quiet mid week. ...

Anglo-Afghan locations
Tue, 20 May 2008 08:58:13 GMT
Dave P's comments about US film look got me thinking tangentially, as
usual:
Does anyone know where the most recent Ultimate Force episode was
filmed? It seemed to be two geologies: Surrey sand pit, and a limestone
quarry. There were unmistakable stitch drilling marks on the rocks
around the "Al Quaeida" ba ...

SCART RGB variable equaliser box wanted
Tue, 20 May 2008 01:01:46 +0100
Anyone got an idea of where I can get a cheap/simple box with chroma
tweaks (rather than make one with a trio of 100ohm or so pots!!)?
Its for a relation who has a Hummax PVR which gives out horribly
oversaturated/orange pictures and his clever (???) tele won't allow
setting changes on the SCART i/p (like qui ...
