Today while playing a medal I asked one of the others to attend the
flagstick for a long put, all on the green . He did so but failed to
remove the stick. The
ball hit same and stopped within a foot and after quietly saying thank
you I putted out.
Who gets penalised.

over in drs.golf we have discussed the legality of a combo of a tee with a
thread and something else attached - e.g. a second tee - designed to keep
the tee in the proximity after the shot. An example:

How Long to Tee Off?

Hi
Only been playing golf for just over 2 years and wondering about
etiquette and how long it should take you to tee off.
My pre shot routine is this; place ball on tee, stand just behind ball
and take a practise swing, look for a marker just in front of the
ball, address the ball and swing.

Can anyone help i was picked to play local open at Beverley 2nd division
playing off 16.4 i went to club tonight and my handicap has gone up to 16.5
so i am now 3rd div my question can i still play Saturday in 2nd div if i
play off 16?

Did anybody catch this BBC article about a new format for competition golf?
I guess it's supposed to make it more appealing due to the competition being
over more quickly as well as providing a greater "risk & reward" aspect to
the game.
