Obstruction?

Hi All
Playing at a new course in a comp, I hit my ball towards O/B (nothing new
there). It came to rest in bounds, just, but my swing was impeded by a fence
which was out of bounds. After much humming and ha-ing my 2 partners and I
decided I got relief from an immovable object.

Most ludicrous application of a rule

What's the most ludicrous application of a rule anyone has seen where the
intent of the rule has been completely forgotten or deliberately ignored in
the application of that rule to gain advantage ?
Personally ..... local rule on a hole at my club alongside railway states on
a sign at the tee that any player ...
