North Vs South FOA 2008
Thu, 18 Oct 2007 20:44:45 +0100
I had a meeting the NEC today so popped into Forest of Arden on the way
to check our arrangements.
On driving in there were deer roaming on the tenth fairway and over the
green. I didn't ask if they had soft spikes! There must have been 20
plus of them, awesome sight and they roam free on the back nine of ...

Re: E.L.G.A.

I think the reasoning is something like - one says 'ladies and gentlemen'
and 'men and women. Thus the female equivalent of 'men' is 'women' when
referring to golf, not 'men' and 'ladies. Probably it is also thought to be
rather old fashioned.
And by the way, sorry Demitri - you are likely right about the l ...

E.L.G.A.
Wed, 17 Oct 2007 03:47:59 +0800
Please note that from January 1 the new structure for the E.L.G.A., voted
for at the recent EGM and following a huge natonwide consultatoin, will come
into force. One important change is that it will henceforth be the 'English
Women's Golf Association', not 'Ladies'. This will obviously be most
clearly seen ...

worms eye view
Sun, 14 Oct 2007 15:53:47 +0100
Putting out on the fourth green, one of the lads had a three foot putt. On
his line, about 14 inches from the hole, a worm began to emerge.
Oh dear he said, just give me a mo and I shall get rid of it.
You will have to wait until it's out of its hole before you can move it or
you will have to putt has it is, ...

Dropping off wrong tee
Wed, 10 Oct 2007 06:05:02 GMT
Is it usual practice to drop off a wrong tee?
In the past we have had a local rule in winter when we are required to drop
off a tee but I can't see this is the RoG specimen local rules.
Our secretary suggests that we have to drop off a tee all year round but I'm
not sure that he's right - what's the normal p ...
