Anti-TNF
Fri, 7 Dec 2007 08:17:10 -0000
Having recently moved house my wife has been offered anti-TNF treatment.
(Maybe there is a postcode lottery; maybe we've won for once!) She was
diagnosed with RA in 1992 and the disease is still active. She would be
glad of any personal experiences of the therapy.
Please reply either here, or edit the repl ...

Arthritis/Prednolone question
Sun, 2 Dec 2007 20:21:23 -0000
Saw my GP on Friday re my diagnosis of PMR, and he's reduced my Pred to 4 x
5mg per day as from yesterday.
I've been told my Pred will gradually be reduced over a couple of years, but
will I ever get off them and back onto my usual Diclofenac Sodium again?
What generally happens in a case like mine?

Hmmm - total recall?
Fri, 30 Nov 2007 20:49:30 -0000
I meant to post this a couple of days ago. I was reading around the BBC
website and spotted this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7115074.stm
Now when I was waiting to be discharged from hospital in September, I was
bored and reading right through my file. I got to the operation details and
saw a stick ...

Hi guys,

Knee follow-up
Thu, 22 Nov 2007 11:35:14 +0000
Well, I just got back from my follow-up visit to the hospital. I was
rather surprised to find myself talking to a physiotherapist, rather
than a doctor. She explained that the whole purpose of the visit was to
see how my knee was working.
I can do better than a 90 degree bend and have no trouble straightening ...

OTP Splodge!

Hi Janet - Just to say, have a lovely holiday!
Make sure you pack your thermals (remember, a few layers are warmer than
thick jumper), and you iron knickers to keep that hip behaving itself!

Mon, 19 Nov 2007 12:10:49 -0000
I've seen the results of my blood tests and various things are up the creek.
Haemoglobin levels are too low, and a Seratonin test and another test was
way too high. He's diagnosed Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and given me steroids
(5 x 5mg per day)and Tramadol to tide me over the holiday.
He said I would need to h ...

General Hints & Advice for Arthritis
Sun, 18 Nov 2007 02:49:39 -0000
Copied this Post from a June thread in this group, it gives good general
advice & info.
@@@@ @@@
It helps first to know what kind of arthritis is. If it is
inflammatory arthritis it needs to be in the care of a rheumatologist and
will most likely need a special type of med that will stop the inflammatory ...
