Knee replacement advice, please

I had to go and see my Dr yesterday and she advised me to have my knee
X-rayed so they could make a decision as to whether I should have a
replacement.
I'm nervous about the idea and would welcome information from people
(especially in the UK) who have had this and can tell me what to expect.

Question about exrecise and RA

Is it bad to force stiff joints into a position, even if after being forced
you then find it slightly easier to get into said position naturally?
I know it sound strange but at the mo am having problems with my toes. I
can't straighten them naturally, they seem to curl up. This is giving me

across a short article here:

to get this GP to put on my medical records that I have sero negative
rheumatoid arthritis. Finally!
Although I've asked not to be sent to the rheumatologist until I move
surgeries as they would only send me to the one who thinks I'm imagining it
all.

After all the messing about I now have a diagnosis. :-) or possibly :-(
I apparently have sero negative rheumatoid arthritis. Which if I understood
rightly isn't quite as bad as ordinary RA.
So now I'm being referred to a different rheumatologist who believes this
exists and will treat me accordingly.
