Ted Briggs

BBC News has just announced the death of Lieutenant Ted Briggs R.N. (ret'd)
at the age of 85. Ted was one of only 3 survivors of the sinking of HMS
Hood by the Bismark.
Ted was my boss when I worked at Whitehall Wireless (Admiralty) in the
early 1960s. It was an honour to serve with him.

Wet, miserable day here but I see it is good weather in Newcastle for the
Great North Run
Sorry I haven't been around much for a day or two. First I had the workmen
in the kitchen - they finished on Friday and I have spent most of the

Techy query for the clever people - Google's Picasa

Up until just a few minutes ago I've been using OpenDNS to access the
interweb thingy but I have always had difficulty downloading albums from
Picasa.
I disabled OpenDNS and reverted to PlusNet's own just now and I was able to
download SeaDancer's album of her trip to Canada without problem.
Why should this be? ...
