Naive Stock Market query

When the stock market is crashing as it appears to be at present I see they
often put a heavily falling FTSE to the fact that loads of people are
selling their shares to protect their savings. But, if they are selling
in such large numbers, who is buying them at the low prices which are still

You'll be pleased to know that my eldest sometimes goes to some of the BCFC
home games. Apparently the firm he w*rks for have a corporate box there.
He also sometimes actually buys a ticket and sits with the home fans.
Shhh!!! He's a *Blade* really and guess which home match he's going to see
later this month ...
