Spalted maple tele...opinions..

Hi - was browsing in Merchant City music in Glasgow before a tincture in
Blackfriers (i've had my eye on a japanese custom tele) and spotted the
spalted maple tele (didn't have time to try it)....split douple humbuckers
etc....has anybody tried one of these...i know it won't be your std tele etc
but i'm gettin ...

Has anyone tried one of these. They are dreadnought acoustics with
solid mahogoney back and sides and, a solid spruce top. Basically a
Martin D-18 copy made in china and sold for around ¡ê400. Any good?

I was watching a guy on Jools 'Later' playing a Tele with a Bigsby and
thinking is there a Tele with a standard Strat trem fitted. There is but
it's a Deluxe which loses some of the 'Teleness' so I was thinking if a more
standard Tele is fitted with a Strat trem, arm and belly contours, upper
cutaway, 'plateless' ...
