Getting that "fat" sound

Hi,
I have a Trace Elliot SuperTramp, guitar is a Yamaha stratalike with a
mini-humbucker at the bridge.
I've been trying to get a fat distorted sound, like you'd use to chug
along with your palm-muted root-fifths when you're the only guitar in
the band.
I'm certain I could buy a great pedal to do it, but I ...

I was trying to find the guitarist on a track fom bassist Adam Nitti's new
album. Of the 3 credited I'm guessing it's Marco Sfolgi. I can't find the
Nitti track 'The Rennaisance Man/Rebirth' online but the 'Andromeda' track
here is pretty nifty if you like melodic shred.

where they just built a new skateboard facility.
We're in Scotland.
Yesterday we get a message: gig cancelled because of rain forecast.

Modelling and looping amp advice request

I'm a bit out of touch with the latest gear but quite fancied a modelling
amp. Reading up on the web maybe a Vox Valevtronix 30watt could do just that
job. However, I also fancy practicing with a phrase looper such as the Boss
