I know we frown on shallow debate within the environs of uk.music.guitar.......... BUT the kids were flicking through the MP3 discs in me motor and pulling a face or cheering depending on the first 5 seconds of the track, so gentlemen "Top Ten First 5 Seconds of the Greatest Recordings of All Time" sponsored ...

After sorting out a VG99 and RR Strat, I'm thinking of selling my black Variax 300 and Pod XT Live (loaded with all three model packs : Collector Classic, Metal, and Bass), L6 digital lead, all manuals, and mini XP power supply, and boxes. Apart a teeny chip on the the 300's side (stupidly done by me moving a ...

FS: Yamaha Nylon String electro-acoustic     Wed, 02 Jul 2008 16:56:00 GMT
Yamaha APX 5NA, about six years old. I need to thin out the guitars a little, and this one isn't getting as much playing as it should. The unplugged sound is good, although it has a thin body, so it's not as powerful as a purpose built classical guitar. It really comes into its own when plugged in - there's a ...

Longer strings needed     Mon, 30 Jun 2008 12:25:21 -0500
Hi, Does anyone know which make of strings are longest? I need to restring my Epiphone Zephyr Blues deLuxe, basically a 1950's ES5 copy. This guitar is very long and has a frequensator tailpiece with a very short bass section. This means the D string has to be at least 39 inches, or 1 metre, long. I've got ...
