Epiphone valve standard not working

Hi,
I've just turned on my amp and it's not working (was working fine the
last time it was turned on!).
The light in the power switch is coming on so there's power but no
output.
Looking in the back the valves aren't glowing as I'd expect them to
be. I suspect there might be a fuse blown somewhere but neve ...

Fret wear = buzz?

I've had this strat plus since the mid 90's. It doesn't get a massive
amount of use, hasn't played live and is pretty much used for home
noodling.
On the higher notes, the strings tend to buzz but not the kind of buzz
that comes from the string coming into contact with frets other than

In the current issue of Guitar and Bass magazine some examples are given of
what (the author thought) Les Paul might play in certain circumstances. One
of the examples shows a 'double-stop' F# and C over an A bass note and
quotes an underlying chord of Am. The author calls this a diminished fourth
interval.
