While doing a bit of maintenance on my website I've just used the
spellchecker in the text editor TextPad against a document containing the
name of this newsgroup.
The suggested replacement for 'uk.music.folk'?
'Bunkums'.
A bit harsh, I thought ...

No details, but it must have been unexpected as he has gigs listed
throughout the spring.
His website just says:
Feb 8th: After feeling unwell John was admitted to hospital on Tuesday,
but the doctors were unable to save him and he passed away peacefully
yesterday.
A shock all round.
