Folk today

I reckon that today's 'folk' has less to do with choice of instruments
than
choice of lyrics i.e.. they should be 'about' something like The
Miners,
The Price of Cheese, The Weather , The Environemnt etc.
By which definition, a lot of what we call folk (songs) are really
