why does sky remote control eat batteries?

I have been with sky for 5 weeks and the remote control has advised me twice
already that it needs the batteries changed. They seem to last about 3
weeks. I don't use cheap batteries.
With every other remote control that I have ever had the batteries last for
a year or more.
Is this typical of sky remote contr ...

groundbreaking services. And all for ¡ê30 a month with no hiddden
catches. So sky promote 3 for ¡ê26, but its actually 3 for ¡ê37
(including mandatory BT line rental). Therfore Virgin media is ¡ê84 a
year CHEAPER THAN SKY.

Sorry folks but I am puzzled about the HD option currently operating.
I have the full sky+ package at present = 43.50 pr month.
If I want to go HD with the existing programmes what can I expect to be the
new monthly charge?
I appreciate there is the cost of the HD box and a rip off charge to
install! tia.

why am I missing sky anytime in my guide?

I have the thomson version 3 sky+ box (play record silver button on left
side standby on riught, green lights in the middle)
I subscribe to all but sports.
I've forced an update, but still no Anytime
any ideas?
