chepest Sky option - help please?

Haven't had sky for years - I have a freeview box with large hard drive.
However, I'd like to get Discovery channels, UKTV etc. Not interested in he
sports, movies or kids channels.
Much against my better judgement, I'm looking at returning to Sky but I need
to be able to record programs (I work shifts) and also ...

Hi my video recorder has packed up and I have been looking at replacements.
All I want is to timeshift the programs I am not bothered about keeping them

Audio Description on ITV3

Flicking through the channels Tuesday night I noticed that Morse on ITV3
was being shown with Audio Description playing. Pressing help brought up
the box which said that AD was unavailable. I assume this was just an
error and the wrong soundtrack was being put through. They don't do

Channel4 HD!

Crumbs. Little old channel4 has beaten the BBC to having a HD version of a
main channel. The scaled SD MPEG4 HD transmission output is way better than
the normal SD MPEG2 channel scaled by either my TV or SKY HD box. The only
actual HD program today seems to be a film!

I note that BT have started charging for services that I used to get
free - such as ¡ê3 for voicemail 1571. This is presumably as I use Sky
Talk and so no calls are paid via BT.
Anybody else getting these extra charges? (I guess it's in their
T&C,but it's easier to ask around that dig through them). ...
