Has Milford Crabtree ever been mentioned on Radio 4 - I don't think so
- what are we going to do about it ?

Squaddies' survival rates in Eyeraq
Wed, 18 Jul 2007 20:05:50 +0100
I could have sworn that I half-heard a news item early yesterday morning
saying that a British squaddy has a higher risk of being killed in Iraq than
does an American, pro rata.
I can't find mention of this anywhere on the Beeb's site - has it been
expunged?

"...delicious meat!"; R4 'Culture Shock'; BBC WS 01:30 GMT 17 JUL 2007
Mon, 16 Jul 2007 20:34:55 -0700
As a note on idiomatics the, presumably Chinese, lady
on this morning's broadcast 'Culture Shock' seemed to
enjoy the benefits of an editing suite on being assured
by an enthusiatic man that he was looking forward to
eating her delicious meat.
To Those Learning English: beware!
In terms of double-meanings, I ...

From Times Online
July 13, 2007
It's not meant to be 'relevant'
Roger Scruton
It is one of the most deeply rooted superstitions of our age that the
purpose of education is to benefit those who receive it. What we teach in
school, what subjects we encourage in universities and the methods of
instruction ...

Desert Island Disks
Sun, 08 Jul 2007 13:55:09 GMT
Desert Island Disks for once was worth listening to: Simon Russell Beale
was interesting and listenable and his choice of music was first-class.
Compare that with Ricky Gervaise last (was it?) week. I didn't know who
Ricky Gervaise was before the programme started and frankly I could care
less afterwards.

Now Show Podcast
Sat, 14 Jul 2007 13:49:42 +0100
Typical BBC nonsense !!
For nearly 3 years I collected the Now Show on podcast, but then they
announced the "Trial Period" was over and they wouldn't be putting it
out on Podcast anymore.
Funny enough I don't remember being asked if I still wanted it ? A bit
of user consultation would have been nice.
