'Stop stealing our listeners' cry rival station chiefs as Radio 2 marches on
Sun, 23 Aug 2009 23:55:47 +0100
From The Times
By Dan Sabbagh
August 24, 2009
Nobody doubts the success of Radio 2 and its primacy among national and
local stations, but its very dominance has forced its commercial rivals to
cry "foul". Its "obsession with youth" and high spending on presenters such
as Jonathan Ross and Chris Evans are de ...

I listen to her every day, not because I like the show but because of
some masochistic drive that forces me to rant endlessly about her
total lack of musical knowledge
Talking over records
Endless references to cats and Sainsbugs and the last thing she bought

Radio presenters
Mon, 17 Aug 2009 01:11:41 +0100
Has Radio 2 finally decided that they are no longer going to employ
professional presenters? Apart from Chris Evans, I cannot think of one
trained radio presenter who has joined or stood in on the network for years.
The latest offering is the actor Craig Charles, standing in for Janice Long
this week.

A long-standing Radio 2 presenter has accused the BBC of sidelining older

13 August 2009
As rivalries go, the one between Terry Wogan and Chris Moyles has not always

A dull day on R2...
Fri, 7 Aug 2009 16:12:57 +0000 (UTC)
Spent the day at home today, and I was struck by the rather poor sequence
of shows after Terry Wogan. First of all there was the rather too squeeky
and giggly Zoe Ball, then the patronising tones of Jeremy Vine, then the
frankly uninspiring Aled Jones. I even found myself looking forward to
Chris Evans!

Terry Wogan wins the battle at breakfast while Radio 3 celebrates its
biggest audience in two years. Radio 3's audience - Sony Station of the
Year - has passed the two million mark.

presented Sunday Night at 10, announced on air that he would not be
returning after 14 years of service.
He was due to be taking four weeks off, but his decision to leave
permanently took the s ...
