Yet another very tight contest, unfortunately on very low sales again.
Notorious Big eventually triumphing over the highest NE Chris Brown.
Just one more NE in the top 10, and that wasn't actually new, but a re-
release of Dead Or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round', at #5.
Top 20 : Ashlee Simpson ...

We have the unusual occurrence of a non-instant #1.
Most Arctic Monkey fans preferred to buy their new album this week,
allowing Notorious BIG's single to climb to #1.
A pretty quiet week for new singles, with the highest being A-Ha at just
#10.
Top 20 : Pharrell #15, Young Jeezy #16

James Blunt - US Top 10
Fri, 27 Jan 2006 06:49:43 +0000
It's taken him 17 weeks for Back To Bedlam to reach #9, though that's
still rather faster than it did here - more like 9 months!
Admittedly his sales haven't been spectacular (41k last week) but
they've remained steady while other albums have fallen around him.
He's also up to #8 on singles with the ubiquit ...

OT : Prediction time - Arctic Monkeys 1st week album sales?
Mon, 23 Jan 2006 06:13:32 +0000
I'll say 225k, given the hype & the success of their first 2 singles.

At last, a new #1! Unfortunately it was never going to be one I liked,
but as this weeks releases go, the Arctic Monkeys are the least of many
evils.
As for the #2, what's with the multiple credits with Notorious BIG? Is
it because where the rappers grew up, it's dangerous to go out alone? : ...

Shayne Ward *just* manages to hold off Nizlopi, but this will certainly
be his last week at the top, as there is very strong competition next
week.
Four NE's in the top 10 :
Richard Ashcroft #3, Sunblock #4, Texas #6, Jose Gonzalez #9.
Close behind were the Kooks at #12.

Roll on next week when things start getting back to normal...!
Anyway... Shayne Ward still comfortably #1, though on precipitously
dropping sales, ahead of Nizlopi.
Just 3 new entries : Editors (*), who take advantage of the dead market
to register their highest chart position of #10, Aaron ...
