schedule links in iPlayer
6 Aug 2008 03:10:46 GMT
Here is a new snippet of research on the iPlayer. Following an exchange
with Jo, I looked at browsing the BBC's output by schedule, for those
of us still mentally organising their interests in that way. (This
includes myself at least for part of what I listen to.) You've
probably seen that starting from bbc.co.uk/ ...

Totally OT. Unlikely combinations
Tue, 5 Aug 2008 20:27:59 +0100
Having made some 'Italian style' bread containing sun dried tomato,
herbs, dried onion and grated parmesan cheese plus the normal flour,
salt, yeast. sugar and some olive oil etc., I had to try it for tea. I
have just tried a slice with Marmite spread upon it and eaten some with
white grapes - Yum!

No LA for today :(
Tue, 05 Aug 2008 00:34:08 +0200
There is something else there, a report from some East European place,
not TA for today. And the podcast is last Monday's but there is a
download url and I'm trying that. That one is slow though.
I don't normally take this much trouble. We are usually walking the
dogs after supper at 7 UK time and I often list ...

Ask EU Jenny M Benson could really use some IT techy help!
Mon, 04 Aug 2008 23:06:34 +0100
Had an email from Jenny, sent by somewhat baroque route, and she's not a
happy bunny. She's got PC problems and asks if I'll ask you good folks
if you've any suggestions how she gets out of this one. I'll need to do
a wee bit of snippage, but I hope not to remove anything crucial!

Hmm. Hell-en seems surprisingly sympathetic to Willum. I wonder if he'd be

Yo, Dudes, how's it hanging. I've been otherwise engaged for a while,
but I may be back periodically for a bit.
Over the last couple of weeks, my morning slumbers have been disturbed
by Will and Emma whining in my ear, complaining about this and that. As
I haven't listened to more than about 5 minutes of TA ...

Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Gulag Archipelago sounded like a psychodelic band.
But it wasn't.

The bon mot
Sun, 3 Aug 2008 23:47:12 +0100
Looking for the bon mot with which to summarise my feelings about
Ed'n'Em this evening, I half-remembered a quotation from one of S J
Perelman's books (may have been a travel book). It went something like
"At this moment, reader, I resolved that I would devote the rest of my
life to hunting him down and killin ...
