This morning I was asked to leave Barrow central library (let's be
generous about what it is, since it calls itself a library) for the
heinous offence of wanting to write in my own notebook with - oh, the
horror! - a PEN!

I have a fancy to use the podcast system the Beeb has been offering. Can
anyrats advise me on the best software to download to enable me to do this?
Most of the ones mentioned by the Beeb seem to be free, but haven't they got
peculiar names?

It's surprising that nobody seems to have mentioned this so far, it
was mentioned by the continuity person after tonight's episode: the
Omnibus is now available as a podcast -

Has anyrat tried this? I'm upgrading my computer at work, and although
reviews are mixed the balance seems to be that Windows 7 is a Good Thing.

We're still trying to help a friend obtain computer and internet access
at home. We now have a computer from Freecycle for her but are
uncertain about how it could actually connect to the internet.
There is no 'telephone type' socket such as we have on our computers for
