Guardian recruitment policies
Thu, 10 Jul 2008 15:51:20 -0700 (PDT)
I was looking at the technology guardian bit
just now and they have a somewhat confusing
campaign promoting equality of opportunity in
terms of a range of rather trite wallpapers.
As copyright cannot be had on an idea, per
se, merely the expression of it, I was in turn
somewhat disheartened to note there was n ...

Yeah, for the international audience who will make
up the majority of the readers of this post, Max
Mosley is the son of Oswald and Diana Mosley,
leaders of the UK's "Blackshirt" National-Socialism
movement and strong influential on its more moderate
"Brownshirt" offshoot movement.
The sway which such movement ...

Michael Stone - eleven years gaol, no justice
Wed, 9 Jul 2008 02:35:24 -0700 (PDT)
Monday was the third anniversary of the 7/7 London bombings. Today is
the twelfth anniversary of a different type of massacre. On July 9,
1996, Dr Lin Russell and her youngest daughter were murdered in
gruesome circumstances near Chillenden, Kent. Her eldest daughter
survived but had no meaningful recollection o ...

citizen journalism and newspapermen's frameworks for citizenship
Thu, 3 Jul 2008 02:29:23 -0700 (PDT)
Well, the ABI are citing "The Credit Crunch" as
the reason fraudulent insurance claims almost
doubled this year. But can any of us really be so
sure?
I certainly knew people some time ago who made
a point of seeing a claim as their just returns for
the inconvenience of having to be insured in the
first place ...

New Group Time? news:uk.media.journalism anyone?
Fri, 27 Jun 2008 13:13:33 -0700 (PDT)
Two things stand out over two years of participation
in uk.media.tv.misc and other groups in the USENET
uk.* hierarchy:
1) Complaints about posts of news and current
affairs discussion masquerading as on-topic by
dint of having been referred to as broadcast by
a TV news station on uk.media.tv.misc (UMTM).

Jingoistic journos continue to miss the point
Wed, 18 Jun 2008 11:28:57 -0700 (PDT)

editorial honchos as Peter "Mentally" Hill.
Yet again we have it clear in the medical ethics
of this country that neither the invocation of any
section of the Mental Health Act - which generally

seek Press Complaints Commission stats
Tue, 20 May 2008 20:54:08 +0100
Unsuccessfully, I tried to find annual statistics on the Press
Complaints Commission's website about the number of complaints made for
each national newspaper.
I want to compare several UK national newspapers and the number of
complaints made/upheld/rejected.
Does anyone know where I can find this sort of ...
