For a deceased man
Thu, 12 Apr 2007 18:38:27 +0100
Incline, O Lord,
Thine ear to our prayers,
in which we humbly beseech Thy mercy,
that Thou wouldst place the soul of Thy servant,
which Thou hast caused to depart from this world,
into the region of peace and light;
and unite in the fellowship of Thy Saints.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Prayer in a country cemetery
Wed, 11 Apr 2007 21:45:16 +0100
Dear Lord, here lie in their last rest,
the boys and girls,
the men and women that worked on the land.
They knew the meaning of hard work.
They knew the joy and peace that is the product of labour.
Now we trust they know the peace and happiness
of everlasting life with You.
They watched the sun rise often,

Holy Guardian Angel
Wed, 11 Apr 2007 20:08:09 +0100
Dear Angel at my side,
my good and loyal friend,
you have been with me since the moment I was born.
You are my own personal guardian,
given me by God as my guide and protector,
and you will stay with me till I die.
He who created you and me
gave me to you as your particular charge.
You assisted in great joy at ...

8 Apr 2007 06:46:48 -0700
Happy Easter Sunday!
At 2-00pm it was 17.9C in Coventry, making this the warmest Easter
Sunday here since before 1981.
What a beautiful day - been for a long walk in the wonderful
Warwickshire countryside arounf Leek Wooton, ending with a lager in
the Anchor pub - just magic after 3 points on Saturday:-))

Warmest day of the year so far
5 Apr 2007 11:04:02 -0700
In Coventry today, we recorded a maximum temperature of 18.9C - the
warmest day of 2007 so far.
No big deal in the scheme of things but we could have our warmest
Easter here since before 1981.
The highest maximum during week 14 here since 1978 was 19.8C in 1997,
so we are not far off even today and it may g ...

Rabbits Everywhere!
Thu, 05 Apr 2007 16:47:01 +0100
Over the past two nights, I have done a few hours flying out of
Coventry. On the way back I think I have had several near misses with
the local rabbits. The breeders are every where. Is it a good year for
them?
Also outside the Ryton plant I have on consecutive nights seen a large
black rabbit, I guess, ...

Easter sunshine
5 Apr 2007 01:15:25 -0700
Although we have enjoyed a run of dry Easter weekends since 2000 in
Coventry and Warwickshire, it hasn't necessarily been a sunny holiday
four day weekend; in 2001 there was just 9.1 hours of sunshine over
this period, and it wasn't much better two years ago with just 10.7
hours of sun in total.

Aqua Food and Moods
Wed, 4 Apr 2007 18:48:14 +0100
Anyone else out there tried "Aqua food and moods" in Coventry?
Lebanese/Italian... Very nice.
I recommended the Sujuk sausage and the Mashli Imshakal (Or something like
that!)
The ginger, Line and Mint crushes are delicious, as well.

Pub food.

The Denbigh Arms in Monks Kirby has changed its menu from traditional
English to mostly curry and the prices have gone up.
So the village has Spanish and Indian but if you want decent English
cuisine you must go down the road to Pailton, where the White Lion is
still excellent.
