OT: improving Vista tips?

I'm being asked to speed up a Vista pc this afternoon and have barely used
the damn thing as I resolutely stick to Windows 2000 and most places I visit
still use XP.
I'm compiling a list of tips but I have yet to find any truly useful
websites and/or utility software. Are there any goodies out there that

1) 100% TW09 (that is get the 100% trophy ball, not 1k it).
FAILED. Still got a few hours (at least) to do, and it won't get a look
in until FIFA is 1kd.
2) Get at least 250G on FIFA 09.

Have been invited and joined the fifa club set up by 'Man of Kent' and
has a few ugvm members in it. (Zo you have been invited btw - you need
to check the player hub and inbox I think - unless you are
deliberately stalling)
