autosaving in games
Tue, 22 Jul 2008 13:07:33 +0100
In this day and age I think this should at best be some sort of
toggleable option, and at worst you should at least be prompted to save
(eg. in the way SM64 does it). However, does Beautiful Katamari
autosave? Does it bollocks. Not only that but unless I missed
something it doesn't actually tell you this un ...

Nice surprises
Tue, 22 Jul 2008 12:44:42 +0100
My copy of Apollo Justice just turned up. And I completely forgot I'd also
bought Sonic Genesis (GBA) and Gauntlet & Rampart (GBA) at the same time. Yay
for retro stuff!
And a copy of Ecolis for the DS, which is probably completely unfathomable in
Japmanganese, but was only ¡ê2.50.
What have *you* forgotten yo ...

OT: my office pc died
Tue, 22 Jul 2008 00:11:41 +0100
Went into my little office today and found my colleague hogging my beloved
Windows 2000 pc (built by myself). He usually uses the XP box but that's
beeping upon bootup and there was a burning smell. I don't want to get into
troubleshooting that right now as I have a million things to do.
Given how much a new o ...

Play.
Forza 2 (360) Just some time trials on Arcade for about half an hour on
Saturday. Didn't get anywhere near the times I wanted so tinkered for a
while and then gave up. The wine I drank at lunchtime probably didn't help.
Mass Effect (360) I've had this for about six weeks now and felt in the
mood for ...

how important is lipzeig games convention?
Sat, 19 Jul 2008 13:13:46 +0100
I was thinking about this years E3 coverage and noted that this year we only
got one demo for download on xbox live, whereas last year there were a
handful or more. Last years was quite exciting but somehow this year seems
to have died a death.
Then it got me thinking that maybe it was because E3 is no longe ...

Tuesday Top 5: Games on the NES: RESULTS
Fri, 18 Jul 2008 15:23:46 +0100
My turn to be bored and tot up the votes...
With relatively few people voting, I've had to employ a tie-break system
whereby games with the same number of points are seperated by the number of
different people voting for the game. This gives us:
1. Super Mario Bros 3 (19)(5)
2. Zelda II: Link's Adventure (8 ...

The same. And looking for a new fridge for our new house. And hunting for the
keys to my parents MX-5 whilst I'm in their house and they're away off up to
Nottingham for the weekend.
I might play some FFTA2, too.

I have a pile of new games to try, but they're a week late and I'm still
sore about my neighbours. I do plan to fire up Persona 3 and Phantasy Star
Universe, and I may get b ...
