PSP Slim and Lite impressions

Got one of these on Friday, and thought I'd post a few first impressions
on how they compare with the old model. The changes, for the most post,
are fairly slight, so this will probably end up being far more detail
than anybody cares about. Hopefully somebody might find it of interest,

Crimson Onyx DS Lite

Searching the ugvh archives for crimson yields no results so I guess this
is news. I'm in the US at the moment and was thinking of buying a DS Lite
whilst I'm here when I saw that they had these Crimson/Onyx models
available:

I Was Skeptical Buying A GP2X Game System, But...

I had seen mentions of the older unit the GP32 but it wasn't very fast
but then they came out with the GP2X with dual CPUs (200mhz).
The GP2X is a handheld game system and video/audio/pic player that
runs on Linux (great for the hackers out there, plus open source
development). It can play Xvid/Divx/Mp3/Ogg/Jpeg ...

I have an offer of the original still with box and manual in good nick.
Worth picking up? IIRC the R-Type game for GBA was shite, so I'm wary.

Do all types of GBA hum on the headphone output?

My GBA - one of the original ones with the crap screen - has quite a
noticeable humming noise when I use headphones (presumably it's
interference from the screen like the GBC had). Until recently I was
able to get around this by turning the GBA volume pretty much to
maximum and using the volume control on my headp ...

I see this is out in the US on Thursday on the DS. Any reccomendations for
where to get a copy, I know it's out on the 19th here but I go away on the
16th and could do with it for the long journey
