PSP Slim and Lite impressions     07 Oct 2007 17:39:52 GMT
Got one of these on Friday, and thought I'd post a few first impressions on how they compare with the old model. The changes, for the most post, are fairly slight, so this will probably end up being far more detail than anybody cares about. Hopefully somebody might find it of interest, anyway. The first thi ...

Crimson Onyx DS Lite     Sun, 07 Oct 2007 7:00:01 +0100
Searching the ugvh archives for crimson yields no results so I guess this is news. I'm in the US at the moment and was thinking of buying a DS Lite whilst I'm here when I saw that they had these Crimson/Onyx models available: http://tinyurl.com/2jhqnv Apparently the black underside is not just half a black DS ...

I Was Skeptical Buying A GP2X Game System, But...     Sat, 06 Oct 2007 14:13:10 -0700
I had seen mentions of the older unit the GP32 but it wasn't very fast but then they came out with the GP2X with dual CPUs (200mhz). The GP2X is a handheld game system and video/audio/pic player that runs on Linux (great for the hackers out there, plus open source development). It can play Xvid/Divx/Mp3/Ogg/Jpeg ...

So, since I have a shiny (and it is *very* shiny) new nano, what games are worth getting for it from the iTunes store? ...

Where can I get one that is sure to be one with the newer, better screen? TIA, Jamie Kahn Genet -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. ...

GBC games worth buying that are not done better on the GBA or DS?     Sat, 6 Oct 2007 05:31:51 +1200
Tetris Dx, R-Type Dx... and? Hmmm... -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. ...

Is the GBC version of R-Type Dx any good?     Sat, 6 Oct 2007 02:31:22 +1200
I have an offer of the original still with box and manual in good nick. Worth picking up? IIRC the R-Type game for GBA was shite, so I'm wary. Regards, Jamie Kahn Genet -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. ...

Do all types of GBA hum on the headphone output?     Fri, 05 Oct 2007 12:00:38 GMT
My GBA - one of the original ones with the crap screen - has quite a noticeable humming noise when I use headphones (presumably it's interference from the screen like the GBC had). Until recently I was able to get around this by turning the GBA volume pretty much to maximum and using the volume control on my headp ...

Best place to get Zelda?     Wed, 3 Oct 2007 00:56:31 +0100
I see this is out in the US on Thursday on the DS. Any reccomendations for where to get a copy, I know it's out on the 19th here but I go away on the 16th and could do with it for the long journey Martin ...
