Using PAL Game Boy Player and Freeloader with US/NTSC cube/TV

Had anyone had any experience using a PAL GB Player with a US cube? I
know that one would need Freeloader to deal with the GB player's boot disc.

After trying to defeat the Empress several times, I thought it was time
for cheating. The Action Replay codes offered by Codejunkies don't seem
to work properly for me.
The "Infinite Sand" codes fill up all the tanks, but I can only use
