Recommendations for an iPhone password app     Tue, 30 Sep 2008 17:17:00 +0100
Can anyone recommend an app for storing passwords? I've tried 1Password but can't get on with the interface. I don't need to auto-fill passwords in my browser; I just need to store them and view them. I'd prefer a PIN or other quick-entry method to get at them (damn the security). I don't want something tailor ...

Cable router working - bafflement     Tue, 30 Sep 2008 14:06:47 +0100
The Linksys WRT54GR arrived. I plugged it all in. Then went to the set up page which has lots of queries about DCHP la la la. I get a few from System Prefs, but am stumped by the rest and the router web page won't let me do anything. I am about to give up and ask Here/Virgin MEdia/etc when I launch Mail for th ...

Double posts with Hogwasher     Tue, 30 Sep 2008 07:31:23 +0100
I sometimes compose messages off-line. Hogwasher throws up lots of error messages. Yesterday, a bunch of my messages appeared twice. What gives? Also, why do you have to click on follow-up, instead of reply, to respond to a post. ...

Download BBC stream     Sun, 28 Sep 2008 11:18:21 +0100
Any ideas on how to grab this? <http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/livelounge/artist/080923_snowpatrol_tour08. shtml> The iPlayer tricks don't work with this URL; I can't use audio hijack as my bandwidth is such that it stalls every 20-30s (which is why I want to download it in the first place). The old 'page inf ...

The most comprehensive error message, ever.     Mon, 29 Sep 2008 23:00:31 +0100
I was trying a GPL editor called Evergreen this evening and was greeted with the following error message when I started the application. <http://img.skitch.com/20080929-rnbjtc981yk96tk68wt6wtbcki.png> Look carefully and there's even a reference to Salma Hayek in there! -- Cheers, Steve The reply-to em ...
