Powerbook battery problems
Sun, 5 Oct 2008 12:57:26 +0100
Since leaving my Powerbook (15" 1.25GHz FW800) sleeping unplugged for a
couple of days, the battery has refused to charge. I'm also getting the
"date before 2001" warning on startup. Before this, I was getting about
45m from the battery.
Is it possible that it suddenly went from that to nothing, and knackered

Oddity with TextWrangler
Sat, 04 Oct 2008 22:48:48 +0100
Hmmm, well now. That's twice today that, when switching back to my
account, the TextWrangler window that was open before switching away
from my account has vanished. The first time it had unsaved edits which
was a bummer.
In each case I return to TW and it claims to have no windows open.

iBook self-assigning its IP address problem rears it irritating head.
Sat, 4 Oct 2008 14:33:00 -0700 (PDT)

My PVR died recently and I am missing a week's programming. The PVR is now
fixed but all is not well: Like an addict, I need my fix of Jon Stewart to
help alleviate my ...

Getting the hex out of HexEdit
Sat, 4 Oct 2008 15:37:09 +0100
I need to copy the Hex code of a file as numerical values (to send in
the body text of an e-mail). This is to show the presence of several
non-printing characters which a straightforward Copy and Paste from the
displayed (or rather non-displayed) text doesn't convey.
If I display the file in HexEdit and then C ...
