Wireless mouse & keyboard?

I'm getting some money for my birthday (next week), and still need a
wireless mouse and keyboard.
Now, I take it the RF versions need to have the USB dongle to be plugged
in for them to work? In which case they're not what I want, as I want to

[OT] Subversion strangeness

Well, possibly not OT, since there may be an OSX issue. Anyway, I know
there are some svn gurus here.
I've got an Xcode project under svn, which I just checked out to another
Mac to make sure everything was ok. Well, it wasn't: the .xcodeproj
bundle was missing.
I did svn list, and it was also missing there. ...

wifi and static IP connection issues on MBP

For reasons I can't quite fathom my home router (a cheap safecom box)
can't seem to cope with a mixture of static IPs and DHCP, so everything
I have connected to it requires a static IP, including this here MBP. If
the MBP isn't assigned an static IP it takes a looong while to wake up
from sleep (10-15min) if wifi ...

Norton Software Needed

Security 2008-005 or Airport patch causing slow-down?

On 10.4.11 I installed security update 2008-005 at the weekend,
at the same time as an AirPort patch (both via the Software
Update tool).
Since then it is taking a number of seconds longer to establish
a working WiFi connection, Finder seems to be taking a couple
of seconds to show image previews (e.g. JPEGs) w ...

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know how to convert Microsoft Write
(as bundled with windows 3.1) files to something usable on a Mac?
Word 2008 (and OpenOffice) sort of manages with the retrieve text
