Firstly I'd like to report I've been ploughing though our/// my
paperwork here and converting it all to .pdf's via a Fujitsu ScanSnap
S1500 (and a special thanks to Steve Hodgson for the heads up and help
on that). [1]
It comes with some software (ScanSnap Organizer) that allows you to

Dead iMac?

On behalf of a mate whose iMac seems to have just died.
Switch on, starts to power up, fan comes on full blast, screen stays
blank, won't boot up.
Dead? Easy fix? Early reply would be obliged as he has some presentation
on it and has <checks watch> 55 minutes to try and rescue it.
(Sounds FUBAR'd to me, tho ...

getting his wife and iPod for Christmas, he knew I had the iPhone so he
asked me what the difference was between the Touch and the iPhone I said the
Touch had everything except the phone. I explained that if he was in a

Snow Leopard, SheepShaver and Basilisk

I've just completed my upgrade to Snow Leopard and the Software Update
to 10.6.2 (which was 533.4 MB for the 10.6.2 combo, BTW).
All went without a hitch, I'm pleased to say.
I've just tried SheepShaver (for System 9.0.4) and Basilisk (for System
7.6.1) and both seem to work OK.
Now to try some of the other ...
