Toshiba Tecra 8100 Laptop - LCD Screen or Inverter Fault?

Hi. My old Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop has developed this fault with one
whitish thin green line running vertically from top to bottom of screen on
the right hand side near to the middle of the LCD Screen and I am trying to

Acer notebook freezing on boot

Acer Aspire 3000 series notebook freezes most times on boot - just
ocassionally it's ok.
When it freezes the keyboard and touchpad don't work.
A USB attached mouse works but once it's froze most apps. like control panel
/ regedit etc. wont run.
It also wont shutdown - I have to remove power to shut it off.

PCMCIA USB

The USB Ports on my laptop are completely dead. I would like to use a PCMCIA
USB card to give it some new ones but all the ones I can find require power
from an existing USB port which I no longer have. Does anyone know how I can
add USB ports to my laptop without the use of an existing USB port? TIA.

Hi all.
A mate of mine has a compaq pressario v4000
the system has gone down & the partition with it.
Has any kind sole got a dvd backup of the c drive
i can scrounge.
It was on xp home with sp2.
He forgot to do a backup when he bought it.

Tiny laptops

Can anyone point me to a driver download site for Tiny laptops please? In
particular I need video and audio drivers but I'm not sure what chipset I
have other than the video is ATI.
