Can anyone think of a tool to help solve crosswords, eg you input
something like "a??o" and it lists all the 4-letter words in a
dictionary matching that pattern?

Live CD for old laptop

I'm trying to find a live CD with a built-in JRE to run on an Toshiba
1620CDS (K6-2 475Mhz 160MB RAM).
DSL and Puppy run fine but don't have a JRE built in.
Ubuntu and Xubuntu Hardy Heron thrash away for a couple of hours but never
reach a working desktop.
Any recommendations?

ssh gives "Permission denied, please try again"

I have 3 machines on my home network and I can ssh to them, back and
forth, without problems. I can also ssh to localhost without problems.
But I can't ssh to ac@acampbell.org.uk. I get "Permission denied, please
try again", and at the third attempt I get "Permission denied,
publickey,password)".

Has anybody come across any software that runs in Linux that would allow
one to import a floor plan of a site, and then collect data about
wireless network conditions by clicking where you are on the floor plan?

Sudden Death

The machine on which I am typing this is an IBM Netvista (8318-31G)
with an ATI Radeon 7000 PCI graphics card, running Ubuntu 8.04.
Sometimes it runs for days or even a week without a problem - but it
also has a tendency to freeze utterly. No response to keyboard or
mouse, won't accept ssh, not reachable by ping ...
