GFX CArd upgrade info required
Mon, 14 Jul 2008 23:25:08 +0100
at the moment my comp has a
ASUSTeK V8 Deluxe motherboard
VIA K8T800 Pro+ VT8237(R) chipset
AMD Athalon 64 4000+ - 2400.0 MHz processor.
It's got an Nvidia GeForce 6800GT AGP gfx board.
Am I right in thinking that a gfx upgrade will have to be an AGP rather than
PCI?
TIA

windows, and the rescue disk cant find a hard drive, but it always
comes back after a period of shutdown. It is now worsening, non
intensive activity seems to make it cra ...

Mon, 7 Jul 2008 13:21:00 +0100
Over the past couple of months I've been called to three customers whose PCs
have failed to boot. When I put the HDD in a second computer, Windows CHDSKs
it, corrects a few filesystem errors and leaves the disk in a state where it
will boot the original PC perfectly.
In all three cases, the PCs have had SATA ...

I built my own PC in June 2005 and installed a Samsung TS-H552U/BEBL
DVD/CD combo drive, which has recently started playing up, even though
I only use it about once a week for backing up my personal data to CD-
RW discs.
What is the typical life-span for a DVD writer drive on a PC?
