I have a Pc running xp that has crashed while installing sp3. I have tried
everything to boot it to no avail. When I try to repair it or reinstall XP
it won't have it and tells me; could not find file\1386\ntkrnimp.exe could
not be loaded, error code 7.
Does anyone know if I can repair this rather than reinsta ...

CMOS battery in NEC laptop

My wifes laptop, NEC I-Select M5210 needs a new CMOS battery.
According to NEC, 'Please contact your service representative or your
Technical Support Centre if this CMOS battery needs to be replaced.'
Has anyone changed the battery in these laptops, is it indeed possible

Eee PC disc space problems

My Mum recently got a new Asus Eee PC 901 XP netbook, and it's giving
her (and me) horrible problems.
The Eeep is advitised as having a 12Gb solid state hard-drive, but it
doesn't; it has a 4Gb drive and another 8Gb drive.
The problem is that the smaller 4Gb is set as the defult C drive and
it's just not big ...

I downloaded and tried to install the Windows 7 Beta this morning. It
failed to boot from the DVD on three different machines, giving an "Error
5" message. I tried it on a fourth box, and it started to boot OK. I
aborted because I didn't want to lose the install already on that machine.

CD/DVD drive info

I have, somewhere, on this massive hard drive an application to
interrogate a CD or DVD drive to find out what it can do, but I have
spent the last 2 afternoons looking for it and I can't find it anywhere.
I have the app that checks the speed, but not the one that gives the
drive details.
