I have a home PC running XP Pro. This hosts my broadband connection (I
use a Netgear DG834 wireless router/access point). I used to have a HP
laptop also running XP Pro and this was able to share my internet

Greetings - have a network consisting of my hardwired PC, a spare hardwired
PC, and my wife's wi-fi PC connecting through a Linksys WAG54GS. The wi-fi
PC uses a Linksys USB wi-fi adaptor. All PCs on Win XP SP2

Billion routers - any good?

I'm looking at replacing my mishmash of boxes pinched (er, borrowed) from
work. I want an all in one solution to be adsl modem, router, WAP, and also
do VPN tunnel endpoint to connect my network to the office.
I've been looking around, and the Zyxel 662 looks good, but it's a bit

Can someone give me a pointer on the use of Dual WAN Routers such as the
Netgear FVS124G etc. At least one of the WAN's will have a dynamically
assigned IP address and I'd like advice or comments on how an outsider
might be told the WAN addresses using either daemons within the router or
from applications running ...

I'm thinking of getting one of these on eBay but many are Sky-logoed
(i.e. came with Sky broadband). I'm not with Sky. Is there ANY
difference when the DG834GT and the Sky verson? If there is, is it
important or can I happily use one of these?
