attempt from another wireless device if one with the same MAC address
was already logged on?

starting home network advice

1) music server to allow music around the house (i have purchased the
sonos system)
2) allow small business server 2003 r2 to operate allowing push email
and allow remote access to outlook from my mobile/pds
3) host website

Mac on a PC network

I have been running 3 PC's on a wired network running XP pro with no
problems. I have just got a new Mac notebook and it picks up the network
with no problem and can transfer files to the 3 PCs with no problem. However
the 3 pc's do not pick up the Mac on the network even if it is connected by
cable or wireles ...

I have a Voyager 2100 wireless broadband router, but although the
wireless side is fine, the broadband side is now pretty much unusable
(due to the commonly reported overheating problems).
I'm considering just getting a cheap wired broadband router, and
networking my existing wireless router to it, i.e. just usi ...

Not quite sure this is OT for any of these groups, but you're
knowledgable people.
Does anyone know of (or can think of a hack for) a device a device
that emulates a USB bulk storage device that's accessible over a
network? I'm not talking about one of these

Sharing Users Folders Over Internet

Hi,
I have a 2003 server and want to share users home folders over the internet,
I take it that if you set a vpn up you need clients installing on the users
machines, is it possible to just login to a webpage and for the users
folders just to come up on the webpage without installing anything on users
pc's? ...

My ISP (Orange, was Wanadoo, was Freeserve) is closing its
AnyTime dial-up service in December. I don't want to stay
with Orange on broadband, so I'll have to move to another
broadband ISP, sooner than I was planning. (I'd have been
happy to stay on dial-up for another year or so.)

I have a D-Link DSL G624M which is great. However, I need a setting
that will make one PC as the DHCP server. Is it possible to do this
such that the other Computers still connect wirelessly (hopefully the
main PC as well)?

memory just powers up and sits there, I can't find it or address it.

Changing Netgear DG834PN default username?

Every router I've owned has let me change the access name from the default
of "admin" to one of my own choosing.
I'm going crosseyed looking at the manual for instructions to change this
for my new Netgear one but there doesn't seem to be an option to change
this. (I've changed the password). Dunno why I'm ...
