Device names UNKNOWN

Using NetGear DG834GT,
Listed & NAMED all devices in LAN device list, all devices show in
list with mac codes & names.
When I check modem for connected devices I have 2 devices that
constantly list named as UNKNOWN. always same two devices, one is a PC
other a 360.
Doesn't seem to be effecting connections ...

I'm trying to work out what's wrong with my home wireless networking.
I bought a Belkin wireless G router (model F5D7230-4) and a Belkin
wireless G pci card (current version 5.87.19.106) for my pc. Using
802.1g setting with encryption, my pc would drop the connection

Slow network performance

Ive just swapped a linksys wrt54g cable router for a new dlink dir-655
router. It has 4 gigabit lan ports.
So far testing wireless I can get decent speeds on that but the
unexpected part is my one wired desktop now gets really poor speeds.

Thanks for reading.
My friend bought a networkdrive that he needs to access from outside his
lan.
The drive has an ftp server build in.
He can set it up so that he can use the drive from within his lan, but
accessing from the outside wold doesnt work out.
