Folder sharing problems on wireless HomeNetworking

I have an HomeNet with four PC: one desktop wired to router, net
printer, net NAS, ne AccessPoint. And three laptops all networked
throu the AccesPoint.
The Desktop and one Laptop run XP Pro, while the remaining two LapTops
have XPHome.
The problem:
Few days ago one of the Laptops (with XPHome) cannot share fold ...

VNC and port forwarding

My wife's (xp) wireless netbook has the IP 192.168.1.x (set using DHCP from
the D-Link router)

movable/drawable, unobstructive and damp proof.

one US robotics 9107A router connected to a desktop, to an Access
Point and to a network printer.
On desktop (XP Pro)wired to the router
Three laptops (One XP Pro and two XP Home) on the wireless side of the

Spate of faulty routers over past two weeks

Over the past two weeks I've encountered four routers (two Netgear DG834G or
GT, two BT Voyager 210) which have failed with the same symptoms:
- power, DSL, Ethernet lights flashing at random
- PC connected by Ethernet gets no IP address
