Erratic Charge Rate
Thu, 04 Sep 2008 19:20:00 +0100
A friend had a problem with her Acer laptop which I offered to have a
look at. I can work on conventional computers but laptops are a mystery.
It will not run on on the power supply with the battery disconnected
although it will run if the battery is charged.
With the machine switched off it will charge the ...

Hardware for VHS to DVD transfer

[Sorry if the following is too off-topic but it potentially involves
an internal hardware addition and is probably an area that there is
some knowledge about in this group. I had just posted a similar query
to uk.tech.digital-tv (also not really on topic) when it occurred to
me here might be a better place to ask ...

How do I connect 2 televisions to a PS3 for a charity singstar event!
Wed, 3 Sep 2008 08:19:23 -0700 (PDT)
Hi all. I've got a problem. My friend is hosting a charity
playstation event at her house, and has asked me to connect 2
televisions to the PS3 for the singstar game (ie, one TV facing the
singers and another facing the crowd!)
Neither TV is HD, so HDMI is out the question. I think we're talking
SCART then. ...

In interesting bit of lateral thought Jim. I'll give it a go, but I
suspect complications with automatically numbering the pages for printing
may make it unviable. There might be a way round that though. Thanks for
the suggestio ...

It's a great product, but it lacks the one feature I want more than any
other... facing pages editing in the word processor. I know you can open
up an extra window to do it, but it's nowhere near as simply to ...

HD, 3 x optical, SCSI subsystem etc. running win2k in a feckin great
full-tower case :-) (300W PSU). Well it was OK (very reliable) - but a
