Can anyone here suggest likely causes of the following problem please,

My music is no longer playing through all the 6 speakers in my

If when gaming, play is slow on the following,
Pentium 2.8 on Intel 845 board with 2 gig DDR and a Radeon 9550 128Mb,
What would be the upgrade route?
