dotNet installers query
Wed, 13 Aug 2008 06:11:08 +0100
Hi all,
Long post, I'm afraid.
I mess around with software, so I like to make sure my machine can run
whatever it is I'm playing around with. So I have stuff like the VB
runtimes, dotnet and soforth installed.
But dotnet seems to be getting a bit silly these days, in terms of what
I have to install. Whe ...

some burn pins on mobo/psu power connector?
Wed, 13 Aug 2008 00:51:01 +0100
Trying to figure out why this oldish asus mobo PC wouldn't boot (or
only sometimes). It was certainly *very* dusty inside but having
cleaned it up a bit I could see burn marks on some pins of the
psu-mobo connector. When I disconnected it there were two pins heavily
discoloured and several pins further on, another ...

NAS Enclosures
Sat, 9 Aug 2008 16:07:27 +0100
I have a 2.5" sata laptop drive that I want to use as a network drive but I
have searched the interweb high and low for an enclosure to take it. I can
find loads of NAS enclosures for a 3.5" hard disc or cases for the 2.5" but
USB only. Could anybody point me in the right direction please.

Mildly OT: Recommend for a 1 port ADSL-ethernet bridge?
Sat, 09 Aug 2008 13:30:35 +0100
Anyone know any cheap but working ADSL2+ bridge (or more likely a
router that goes into bridge or half-bridge mode quietly and without
any fuss)? It only needs one ethernet LAN port.
I picked up an Edimax BR6642 load-balancing dual router, but due to me
misreading the specs it's got ethernet for the two WANs rat ...

Anybody got an account at Blue Goose Systems?
Fri, 8 Aug 2008 17:49:55 +0100
I am looking for a Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 IDE 7200rpm 2.5" drive. 80GB or
preferably 100GB. They seem to have gone out of stock everywhere, over the
last couple of months.
The only place that I have found that seems to have them seems to be a trade
supplier. Has anybody here got an account with Blue Goos ...
