If anyone's about this morning, could you just try a quick test to see if
you can access this website please. I've never had problems with it before,
but this morning it is permanently unavailable here. Don't know whether it
is a Virgin issue or perhaps a routing problem after last night's electrical
storms.

Yes, I know it's stating the obvious but when you get an email meant to
look as if it's from Barclays Bank with "Barclays bank: SPECIAL
ANNOUNCE" as the header it's going to fool no one. And when the To:
address is to someone I've never heard of why do they bother? If anyone

Viirgin Email Spam Increasing ?

Has anyone else seen the spam volume shoot up since the weekend when the email
was down on Sat 16th Sept? I suspect they have pulled their spam filters
(cost?). Its more work for the spam rule filters here but much of it could have
been filtered by the ISP. Something has happened.

Idle time out?

Have Virgin introduced an idle time out on broadband? For the last few
days if I leave the connection idle for a short time, say off making a
cuppa, when I come back although still connected the connection is dead
I have to disconnect then reconnect.

Just checked the firewall log and noticed a scan on port 106 "poppass
(change password)" It's the change password bit that bothers me, or

MAC key

You might know that you can change between Broadband suppliers without
interruption using a MAC key which you should get from the provider you are
leaving. However Virgin is not party to a list of providers I checked.
Does anyone know whether they will do this?
I have emailed them to no avail (so far)
